Ask For the Old Paths

(Jeremiah 6:16)

They were told to actively seek out the old paths. They were to stand in the way, to look, and to ask, and to find the good way. Then, when you find the good way you are to walk therein. Once you do this you will find peace for your soul. Even now, I would have to say the response to God’s command is still the same for most people, “We will not walk therein…”

These commands were given to God’s people, the nation of Israel. The response was required individually and collectively as a nation. They refused. We have come to the same crossroad today. The ones who followed the old paths are the ones who made us who we are who we are.

Here is a reminder for those who have wandered from the paths.

“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light” 1 Peter 2:9

We have a purpose. To show forth the praises of him (Jesus) who has called us out of darkness into his marvelous light. Stay away from the new paths. We have been sold the Gospel, the Holy Spirit and God’s Holy word for some preacher’s profit. Run. It is time to get back to the preaching of the gospel of salvation. Let us share Jesus with the world, one person at a time. Let us come together as a Holy nation and walk in the good paths.
